Ecopsychology
There is growing scientific evidence for the benefits of Ecopsychology for health and wellbeing. Research studies have shown that time in nature — as long as people feel safe — is an antidote for stress: It can lower blood pressure and stress hormone levels, reduce nervous system arousal, enhance immune system function, increase self-esteem, reduce anxiety, and improve mood.
We offer Ecopsychology to people and groups who are experiencing:
- Concern about the economic, social and environmental injustices of our time.
- Stress and trauma about climate change related events and disasters.
- Grief about the state of the planet and humans impacts upon it.
- A sense of isolation or alienation – not feeling at home, whether in intimate relationships, society, or nature

“For someone to develop genuine compassion towards others, first he or she must have a basis upon which to cultivate compassion, and that basis is the ability to connect with one’s own feelings and to care for one’s own welfare…caring for others requires caring for oneself.”
