The Meaning of Metta
Metta in Pali, the language of early Buddhism, means loving-kindness. It is the intention for all beings to be well and truly happy. The essence of Metta is in friendship and a deep sense of connection. A knowing that our lives are interconnected and that Everyone Matters.
Loving Kindness is a foundational practice that cultivates compassion, wisdom, patience, tolerance, gratitude and forgiveness.
Research shows that this simple yet profound practice can change the structure of the brain, and generates measurable positive improvements in health and well being. As such, it is a proven pathway for emotional healing, transformation and living a fulfilling, joyful and meaningful life.
“Your task is not to seek for Love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it”
